Basic TIG Welding Inverter Setup (Everlast PowerTIG 185)
What you will see in this episode:
In this episode of TIG Time, Wyatt is joined by Eric The Car Guy; who just got a new Everlast PowerTIG 185 Micro TIG welder and is in need of a welding education. This episode covers how to set everything on the front of the machine, what all the knobs/ buttons/ cables do, Argon gas, welding safety, and proper torch use.
The Setup:
This video is ALL about the setup. First, Mr. TIG takes us to the front of the machine where he gets into the basic controls:
- Amperage
- AC/DC
- Pedal vs Panel
- Cleaning vs Penetration
- etc.
After showing Eric how to work the controls, he shows what each cable does and where to plug each in for specific processes.
- Ground
- Argon Gas
- TIG Torch
- etc.
Now it's time to check out the bottle of Argon and how to set the gas flow for our welding project.
After setting everything on the machine and the Argon gas flow, it's time to get back behind the table and demonstrate how to properly hold a TIG torch.
Now that you know how to set the machine, gas flow, and hold the torch, all that is left is safety. Mr. TIG goes over with Eric all the things that he needs to get started TIG welding without getting hurt, such as:
- Helmet & Shade safety and
- Skin Protection
