In this episode of TIG Time, we are going to be testing the AC functionality of the Lincoln Electric Square Wave 200. Since its release in November of 2015, the square wave 200 has been a favorite among hobbyist and light commercial welders. We got our hands on one so that we could see how it would compare to some of the Lincoln TIG welders of the past, like the V-205T.

This machine performed very well for its intended use, however the arc starts were a little spikier than we would have liked for thin gauge Aluminum work (spiking to about 25 amps before re-establishing and maintaining a consistent 10 amps). After getting some tacks in place, we were able to weld up some .040 Aluminum.

On the other end of the spectrum, we wanted to see how the machine would hold up on 200 amps, welding 1/4" Aluminum. The machine had no issues at higher amps, as we expected.
